Royall's Boatyard has, for the past 50 years plus, offered unrivalled service to private boat owners. We can carry out any of the varied engineering jobs that you may require and can have your vessel independently boat safety checked, and then complete any work that arises from this. We have full gantry and slipway facilities and specialise in the repair and restoration of timber vessels. Whether it is a full restoration project or just a lick of paint or varnish we are the ones to lovingly restore your pride and joy back to its former glory.
For many years, we have looked after one of the largest of Broads boats, the 60ft Norfolk pleasure wherry Solace, built in 1903.
Recent work includes re-keeling, timbering, varnishing etc. the wooden rowing gig 'Alert.' Indeed we rather specialise in steaming timbers. We have also completed work on many of the wooden Broom broads cruisers including Navigator, Dawdler, Papaver, Magnolia etc. This work has included planking both bottoms and top sides, chines, timbers and then of course, repainting.
Other work has included building gun punts, marshman's punts, rebuilding wooden day boats, white boats and brown boats.
If it's built of timber, we'll look at it!
In the fiberglass line, we can polish and repair.
Don't hesitate to contact us as we can give you a competitive quote on any of your boat repair requirements. Please ask for Nigel.
